Measure the usable inside width and depth of the seat area. If you need a back cushion as well, measure the back section separately. Do not measure only an old cushion if it has compressed, stretched or changed shape over time; compare it with the furniture frame.
Can I order a custom cushion for a deep-seat patio chair?
Yes. Measure the inside seating width, depth and back height of your furniture before selecting a configuration. Deep-seat furniture often needs a thicker cushion and may require separate seat and back measurements.
What thickness is best for a patio chair cushion?
For upright dining-style chairs, 2–3 inches is often suitable. For deep-seat lounge chairs or furniture used for longer relaxation, 4–5 inches can provide a more substantial comfort level. Make sure the finished thickness does not make the seating height awkward relative to the arms or table.
