Measure the usable seating area of your bench—not the widest outside edge of the frame. Measure the inside length, depth and the thickness you want for the finished cushion. If your bench has arms, posts or a backrest, make sure the cushion dimensions leave enough room for the cushion to sit flat without pressing against the frame.
